We often read horoscopes in books, magazines, and newspapers or hear on radio or saw on TV. But what exactly is a horoscope? A horoscope is a map showing the position of the Sun, the Moon, and planets at the precise moment of your birth. It is because the planets are shown in their exact position at the moment of birth that this type of horoscope is known as the birth chart or the natal chart.

A correct interpretation of these birth positions exposes much about you. It can be thought of as the "hand" that has been "dealt" in life. This doesn't mean that life is predetermined…far from it! A horoscope can’t show how you are going to "play" your hand. That’s largely up to you to decide that by using your free will. What a horoscope does is reflect the natural inclinations and abilities that you have, the lessons to be learned, and the issues to be faced in your life. You can choose to work with it (within your capacities) and realize the goals and rewards that you are uniquely qualified for, or to go “against the stream ” and achieve desired results only with great difficulty.
Think of a Horoscope as a kind of chart showing
the energies you've been given. What you make of these energies
(opportunities), depends upon you, the individual. Astrology
can provide incredible
keys to understanding them, but
it doesn't necessarily
provide easy answers. Obtaining information about your horoscope
will give you insight
and understanding of the reasons why you behave as you do.
To have the horoscope of another (such as a loved one) revealed
let you understand them better. Understanding and accepting
their unique qualities and limitations give you the tools
you need to keep your relationship
strong and to foster mutual understanding between both parties.
